Short Description:
An easy to use financial record-keeping and reporting system.
Flexible by way of user design, simple & fast data entry, extensive
screen & printed reports. Checkbook reconciliation and printing,
fiscal year support, transaction editing ability and automatic entries
via "templates". Sample data and an introductory style "test drive",
included for new users.
Longer Description:
HBMS is an easy to use financial record-keeping and reporting
system. Users are allowed complete flexibility in the way they design
their accounts, allowing them to track not only checkbooks, but any
income, expense, asset or liability. You can find out exactly
where the money went (and how much is left)! Budgeting is also
allowed, and compared. It has a simple and fast data entry method, and
transactions can be split into 14 different accounts. There are
extensive screen reports, and 10 printed reports (printed reports can
also be directed to a file). Some other features are transaction
editing, and the ability to save recurrent or similar transactions to a
"template" with optional reminder flags (due dates) for automatic
entry. HBMS handles up to 12 checking accounts for reconciliation,
and/or check printing. There is support for fiscal years other than
the calendar year, and there is a pop-up help screen for the Chart of
Accounts. A special "Test Drive" document is included, which combined
with the sample data, will quickly introduce you to HBMS and what is
has to offer.
Changes in version 4.2:
Adds support for naming budget systems, improved help screen for
Chart of Accounts, better printer support including drivers for 35
different printers, refined color support, and other minor
enhancements. Also, author is now a member of ASP.
VENDOR TERMS
--------------
Anyone wishing to distribute copies of HBMS must observe the
requirements listed below:
1. The HBMS package must include all the files listed in the packing
list as shown on page one of this document. If incomplete, do NOT
distribute. Contact me for a complete package.
2. If the HBMS package is to be compressed into a file suitable for
inclusion on a BBS type environment, please specify the file name
as HBMS42.ext. (ext = compression file extension, ZIP,ARC, etc.)
3. If a fee is charged for distribution it must not be higher than
$8.00 U.S., or the equivalent in international funds.
4. The person receiving HBMS must be made aware that any fee that you
charge is a distribution charge only, that HBMS is copyrighted, and
it is not a free program. It is for evaluation purposes, and
registration with the author is required for continued use. In
other words, the Shareware concept must be promoted in
advertisements.
5. This version 4.2 was released in December, 1990. If it is over 6
months old please contact me to see if there are any later
releases. I will be happy to provide you with a known good copy of
the latest version. Since I can not possibly afford to send copies
of HBMS to every vendor, please consider a $5 handling fee when
ordering your disk.
6. If you are distributing HBMS, I would appreciate notification in
order to keep my vendor database current. I would also like to be
put on your mailing list for catalogs.
If you are a distributor who is not an associate member of the
Association of Shareware Professionals, you may contact them for a
